One of the Best Business Pitches

I came across this yesterday, and definitely thought it was post worthy. Is this the best business pitch you have ever seen? Take a look and you decide.

Besides being clever, well written, well performed and really funny what made it a great pitch? For me there are a few things that really make it stand out.

1. I knew exactly what they do from the beginning. – Believe it or not most of the pitches I have seen in person, tv, at events etc I would say to myself, “Ok but what do they do?” So tick in the box on what they do!

2.  It was funny and memorable and different – It is because it is funny that makes it memorable, which is what is called a sticky message! It’s because it was sticky that I watched it more than once and shared it with my family, friends and now my readers! Also, it was different. They are selling something that is rather common, ‘the men’s shaver’, but they manage to spice it up!

3. They spoke to their target audience – This obviously wasn’t a pitch for investment, this was a pitch to get men to buy razors monthly. They did a great job using the appropriate humour for their target audience.

4. They kept it simple – granted it wasn’t a live pitch so they were able to rehearse and script it out, but in any great pitch whether live or not you should have some kind of script that you work to and you should definitely rehearse. The message was very simple, for 1 dollar a month they will send you razors, they save you money and help you remember to get razors, and they are creating jobs.

Every pitch is different and what may work for one product / service may not work for another. I am curious though . . . I wonder how many customers this simple viral vid would have attracted!

I would love to hear what you think? Was it great? Yay or Nay!

  1. It was great. The guy is personable (and cute), the visuals are funny-the bandaged head … or did he let the little girl shave him? hahah! Child labor? Alejandro? Very funny. Job well done! Where do I sign up to buy blades I don’t need???

    • Hi Edna, great point the speaker was very personable! Also, I thought it was shaving cream on his head but I will watch again, maybe it was a bandage!
